Spiritual Warfare Chapter 2
The Armour of God
There are some key word through out
Chapter 6 of Ephesians.
so we will take some time to
go through and be clear about them
Standing Firm
as a definition
To stand means to resist
without yielding
to maintain a position
to persist,
to endure,
to remain upright,
to encounter,
to meet face to face.
2 Chronicles 20:15,17
And he said,
“Listen, all you of Judah
and you inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and you, King Jehoshaphat!
Thus says the Lord to you:
‘Do not be afraid
nor dismayed
because of this great multitude,
for the battle is not yours,
but God's.
You will not need to fight in this battle.
Position yourselves,
stand still
and see the salvation of the Lord,
who is with you,
O Judah and Jerusalem!’
Do not fear or be dismayed;
tomorrow go out against them,
for the Lord is with you.”
Having done all,
we are going to stand firm.
we will not yield
to you devil and your schemes
we will hold fast
to the Word of God
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and of good courage;
do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you
wherever you go.”
As heirs and children of God
we will stand in this place
that is already ours.
It has been delivered to us
by God, through the cross
of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 16:13,14
Watch, stand fast in the faith,
be brave, be strong.
Let all that you do
be done with love.
We willstand in faith
on the solid rock,
Jesus Christ
You are our foundation
We will not be moved
by the roar of the enemy
nor by negative circumstances
We will stand valient and strong
with you on our side,
who can be against us
Ephesians 6:11-14
Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle
against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers
of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts
of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up
the whole armor of God,
that you may be able
to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all,
to stand.
Stand therefore,
having girded your waist with truth,
having put on
the breastplate of righteousness,
We will not in any way
surrender to an uprising
of the enemy
we submit ourselves to God
and stand firm and
resist the devil
and he flees, runs away.
Philippians 4:1
Therefore,
my beloved and longed-for brethren,
my joy and crown,
so stand fast in the Lord,
beloved.
As priests before You Lord
We will bless Your Holy Name
and serve You in obedience
A key here is:
Jesus did not use the word of god
to attack the devil.
He used it to maintain the victory
He already had.
1 Thessalionians 3:8
We feel alive again
as long as we know
that you are standing firm
in the Lord.
2 Thessalionians 2:1-5
Now, brethren,
concerning the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ
and our gathering together to Him,
we ask you,
not to be soon shaken
in mind or troubled,
either by spirit or by word or by letter,
as if from us,
as though the day of Christ had come.
Let no one deceive you
by any means;
for that Day will not come
unless the falling away comes first,
and the man of sin is revealed,
the son of perdition,
who opposes and exalts himself
above all that is called God
or that is worshiped,
so that he sits as
God in the temple of God,
showing himself that he is God.
Do you not remember that
when I was still with you
I told you these things?
Regarding the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ
and our gathering together to him,
we interceed,
not to be easily confused
or disturbed in our minds
by any kind of spirit,
rumor, or letter allegedly
claiming that
the day of the Lord
has already come.
Don’t let anyone deceive us
in any way.
Before that day comes
the rebellion
must occur and the “outlaw”
the destructive son
will be revealed in his true light.
He is the opposing counterpart
who exalts himself over everything
that is called “God”
or is worshiped
and who sits enthroned
in God’s temple
and makes himself out to be a god.
Father, we will stand
in the victory that has already
been won
For the battle is not ours
but Yours Lord
in this way we are more than conquerors
in Christ Jesus
Belt of Truth
This is the area of
strength, power, vigor
and maturity
If we are weak in this area
we can be disabled
as soldier
Exodus 12:11
And thus you shall eat it:
with a belt on your waist,
your sandals on your feet,
and your staff in your hand.
So you shall eat it in haste.
It is the Lord's Passover.
The belt signifies something
which we brace ourselves with,
the symbol of a soldiors
strength and supply.
Its our access to our armor
and weaponary.
Its a show of preparation to act.
The word 'Gird' means in
the Greek to prepare oneself
for action.
Luke 12:35
Let your waist be girded
and your lamps burning;
You Lord are our truth
You have made us to know
Your truth in our
inward parts
We are dressed
in readiness because
Your truth cloths us.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him,
“I am the way, the truth,
and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through Me.
1 Corinthians 2:16
For “who has known
the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct Him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.
Ephesians 4:15,16
but, speaking the truth in love,
may grow up in all things
into Him who is the head,
Christ from whom the whole body,
joined and knit together
by what every joint supplies,
according to the effective working
by which every part does its share,
causes growth of the body
for the edifying of itself in love.
We encompass our minds
with the truth so we
are ready for action
we resist all double mindedness
and claim that
we have the mind of Christ
If we are girded with truth
we will be strong
and passionate with
nature spiritual insight
In His Glory we will
resight His Word,
reproducing the Word of God.
Ephisians 6:14-18
Stand therefore,
having girded your waist with truth,
having put on
the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet
with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith
with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit,
being watchful to this end
with all perseverance
and supplication for all the saints
so put on truth
as a belt to strengthen us
to stand in triumph.
Put on holiness
as the protective armor
that covers our hearts.
Stand on our feet alert,
then we’ll always be ready
to share the blessings of peace.
In every battle,
take faith as our wrap-around shield,
for it is able to extinguish
the blazing arrows coming at us
from the Evil One!
Embrace the power of
salvation’s full deliverance,
like a helmet to protect
our thoughts from lies.
And take the mighty
razor-sharp Spirit-sword
of the spoken Word of God.
Verse 19 then goes on to say
And pray also that
God’s revelation
would be released through us
every time we reach out with
the wonderful mystery
of the hope-filled gospel
.
Truth is the teaching
presented in Gods very Word
Embodied in Jesus Christ
and revealed to us by
The Holy Spirit.
Father we ask that You
embrace us and uphold us
with Your revelation
as we stand in agreement
with You on Your Word.
2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks
to God always for you,
brethren beloved by the Lord,
because God from the beginning
chose you for salvation
through sanctification
by the Spirit
and belief in the truth,
2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself
approved to God,
a worker who does not need
to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
we need to always be eager
to present ourself before God
as a perfect and mature minister,
without shame,
as one who correctly
explains the Word of Truth.
Just make sure that we ask
empowered by confident faith
without doubting that we will receive.
For the person who is
having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas
believes one minute and doubts the next.
Being undecided makes us
become like the rough seas driven
and tossed by the wind.
we’re up one minute
and tossed down the next.
When we are half-hearted
and wavering it leaves us unstable.
Can we really expect to receive
anything from the Lord
when we’re in that condition?
James 1:6-8
But let him ask in faith,
with no doubting,
for he who doubts
is like a wave of the sea driven
and tossed by the wind.
For let not that man suppose
that he will receive anything
from the Lord;
he is a double-minded man,
unstable in all his ways.
1 Peter 1:13
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind,
be sober, and rest your hope
fully upon the grace
that is to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
The Breast Plate of Righteousness
Guilty criminals experience paranoia
even though no one threatens them.
But the innocent lovers of God,
because of righteousness,
will have the boldness
of a young, ferocious lion!
Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.
When we know inside of us
that Jesus is our Righteousnes.
When we know
He lives, moves, and
has His being in us.
we become or take on
His charactor.
His will in our lives.
Acts 17:28
for in Him we live and move
and have our being,
as also some of your
own poets have said,
‘For we are also His offspring.’
Isaiah 59:16-17
He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm
And he said,

is the work of Christ
in our lives.
We are preserved within our

giving us boldness to face
the enemy without fear.

For if by the one man's offense
death reigned through the one,
much more those who receive
abundance of grace
and of the gift of righteousness
will reign in life
through the One,
Jesus Christ.
Therefore,
as through one man's offense
judgment came to all men,
resulting in condemnation,
even so through one Man's righteous act
the free gift came to all men,
resulting in justification of life.

For He made Him
who knew no sin

the righteousness of God

walk with pure motives
have a clear conscience
courage to face the enemy

because Jesus was the perfect sacrifice

Shoes of the Gospel of Peace
Exodus 12:11

To be ready,
to mount up,
to be dressed for action.
The action of peace.
We have been brought to the Father
in Holiness, Harmony and Peace.
a Peace that sanctifies our whole
body, soul and spirit.
1 Samual 2:9,10
He will guard
the feet of His saints,
But the wicked
shall be silent in darkness.
“For by strength
no man shall prevail.
The adversaries of the Lord
shall be broken in pieces;
From heaven He will
thunder against them.
The Lord will judge
the ends of the earth.
“He will give strength
to His king,
And exalt the horn
of His anointed.”
This talks of walking,
and so it is fit
that we do a walk with the Lord
Our walk is a witness
of speaking the gospel of Peace.
It includes our behavior,
attitude and these need to be
tied up together with Peace.
As we seek revelation
from the Holy Spirit
for the purpose of redemption.
He will reveal our mission,
who is to be, rescue mission.
who needs to understand
the fullness of
Christ's blood sacrifice.
Peace is freedom from strife,
inner peace which is
received from God.
The enemy comes with
conflict, fear and strife but
we fight with
Love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness
selfcontrol, gentleness,
and obedient awe of who God is.
we are in a mode of reconciliation.
Psalm 18:33
He makes my feet
like the feet of deer,
And sets me on my high places.
Through God we ascend
to the highest peaks of Your Glory
to stand in the heavenly places,
strong and secure in You.
Psalm 66:8,9
Oh, bless our God,
you peoples!
And make the voice of
His praise to be heard,
Who keeps our soul
among the living,
And does not allow
our feet to be moved.
Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

Perfect, absolute peace
surrounds us
whose minds
are consumed with You Father
we confidently trust in You.
We need to fight against any fear
that would stop us from
talking about the gospel
one of the biggest
weapons of the enemy
is to tell us
'what will they think of you,'
fear.
So we need to take a stand
with our feet
declaring, we are not ashamed
of the gospel of peace.
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed
of the gospel of Christ,
for it is
the power of God
to salvation
for everyone who believes,
Ephesians 6:15
and having shod your feet
with the preparation
of the gospel of peace;
Ready to maneuver
in which ever direction
the Holy Spirit
leads us to go.
Kepted in a state of readiness
so that we can boldly tread
on the enemies territory
to set the captives free
from satans bondage.
Colossians 1:20
and by Him
to reconcile all things to Himself,
by Him,
whether things on earth
or things in heaven,
having made peace
through the blood of His cross.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace
Himself sanctify you completely;
and may your whole spirit,
soul, and body be preserved
blameless at the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, may the God of peace
and harmony set us apart,
making us completely holy.
And may our entire being
spirit, soul, and body
be kept completely flawless
in the appearing of our Lord Jesus,
the Anointed One.
The Shield of Faith
Faith is believing, accepting
and appropriating what
Our God has declared.
A total trust in the
Lord Jesus with all things.
A shield is for the purpose
of stopping or deflecting,
protection and taking ground.
we need to constantly pick it up
and use faith in God's strength.
Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those
who put their trust in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
We are confident,
yes, well pleased rather to be absent
from the body
and to be present with the Lord.
Galations 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ;
it is no longer I who live,
but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me.
We resist the devil
by being firm in this truth
Jeremiah 1:12
Then the Lord said to me,
“You have seen well,
for I am ready to perform My word.”
Lord we walk by faith,
not by sight or things
that happen in the physical.
You Lord are our sheild
our strength and our Faith
rests in You.
We speak and ask in Faith.

We are protected from the evil one
so when it says

The devil flees from the truth.
because we draw near to God
The very light of the God
dispells every work of darkness.

that you may walk worthy of the Lord,
fully pleasing Him,
being fruitful in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of God;
strengthened with all might,
according to His glorious power,

He has delivered us
from the power of darkness
and conveyed us into
the kingdom of the Son of His love,

with a true heart
in full assurance of faith,

from an evil conscience
and our bodies washed

Let us hold fast the confession
of our hope without wavering,

Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
Faith brings our hopes
into reality and becomes the foundation
needed to acquire the things we long for.
It is all the evidence required
to prove what is still unseen.

And this is the testimony:

and this life is in His Son.
We draw near to You
and resist the devil
In the Name of Jesus Christ
In total trust
by lifting up our
shield of faith
anointed in oil
by the Holy Spirit.
The Helmet of Salvation
Our minds need to be protected
from the enemy.
one of his attacking areas

The enemy comes with
conflict, fear and strife but
we fight with
Love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness

and obedient awe of who God is.
