Monday Prayer
Government
Father, in Jesus' name, we come to pray first for us
and all who are in authority in the countries where we live and minister, in
order that we may lead a quiet and tranquil and peaceable life in all godliness
and dignity and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in Your sight, for You
desire all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
We pray, Father, that these rulers in authority in our
land be not a terror to good works, but to the evil; that these rulers be Your ministers
and bring just punishment to those who do evil.
Give these our knowledge of Your way of judging, O
God, and give them the Spirit of Your righteousness to control all our actions.
Let us judge and govern Your people with righteousness, and Your poor and
afflicted with judgment and justice. Praying that the mountains bring peace to
the people, and the hills, through the general establishment of righteousness.
May these judge and defend the poor of the people, deliver the children of the
needy, and crush the oppressor so all may revere and fear You while the sun and
moon endure, throughout all generations.
Praying
that these in authority will deliver the
needy when we call, the poor also and the person who has no helper; that
they will have pity on the poor and weak and needy, and that
they will save the lives of the needy, and redeem our
lives from oppression and fraud and violence. Praying that also that precious
and costly shall be the blood of the needy in Your sight and in the sight of
the us.
Praying that prayer shall be made for the needy
continually, and that men shall be blessed by these and that all nations shall
call them and You blessed.
Father, Praying that You take away the wicked from
before those in authority in our country so our government will be established
in righteousness. For promotion comes not from the east, nor from the west, nor
from the south, but You are judge. You put down one and lift up another. Praying
that we may be surrounded with marry wise and righteous counsellors who love peace.
We pray, Father, that those in authority will not
crave strong drink nor wine, lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert
the judgment of any of the afflicted. Praying that they will not receive a bribe from
the bosom to pervert the ways of justice, but will give stability to
the land by justice, and not take a bribe to overthrow it
Lord, counsel is Yours, and sound wisdom. You are
understanding, and power is Yours. By You kings reign, and rulers decree
justice. By Your princes rule, and nobles, and all who judge rightly. Praying
that these rulers in authority will diligently seek You so that all may find You.
Those Not Saved
Father, having overlooked the times of ignorance,
You are now declaring to men that all men everywhere should repent, because You
have fixed a day in which You will judge the world in righteousness, through
Jesus Christ whom You have appointed, having furnished proof to all men by
raising Him from the dead.
Father, You are not slow about Your promise, as
some count slowness, but You are patient toward us. not wishing for any to perish,
but for all to come to repentance. For the Son of Man has come to seek, and to
save that which was lost, and You said, "I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice: For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to
repentance."
Lord, according to Your Word, we are asking for the
unreached peoples to be an inheritance for us, and the uttermost parts of the
earth for our possession.
Father, we ask that You grant sinners, who will be
ministered to by us, repentance from dead works, and faith toward God. That these
sinners put aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness. And Praying
that they receive in humility the engrafted Word, which is able to save their
souls.
We ask that You pour out on sinners, who will be
ministered to by us, Your Spirit of grace and supplication so we can look on Jesus,
whom we have pierced. We ask that Your Spirit of truth come and convict them
concerning sin, righteousness and judgment. Convict sinners concerning sin
because they do not believe in Jesus; convict sinners concerning righteousness
because Jesus went back to You; and convict sinners concerning judgment because
the ruler of this world has been judged.
Thank You, Father, You are able to save forever
those who draw near to You through Jesus, since You always live to make intercession
for us. Praying that these sinners receive Your Spirit of adoption as sons, by
which we may cry out, "ABBA!
Father!" Praying that Your Holy Spirit, Himself, will bear witness with our
spirit, and that we become the children of God.
Those Needing Ministry
We Pray, Father, that You open a door for the Word,
so we may speak forth the mystery of Christ; and that we may make it clear in
the way we ought to speak.
Praying that we would conduct ourselves with wisdom
toward outsiders, making the most of our opportunities and using our time
wisely. Praying that our speech be always with grace, seasoned, as it were,
with salt, so that we may know how to respond to each person.
Praying, Father that those receiving ministry
continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, grounded and settled,
and that they not be moved away from the hope of the gospel which they have
heard. Sanctify them in Your truth; Your Word is truth.
May the Word of the Lord spread rapidly and be
glorified. May we, as well as those receiving ministry, be delivered from perverse
and evil men and women, for not all have faith. Thank You, Father, that because You are
faithful, You will strengthen us and protect us from the evil one.
Praying that the hearts of those receiving ministry
may be comforted and encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to
all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting
in a true knowledge of Your mystery, that is Christ Himself, in whom are hidden
all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Partnership and Staff
Holy Father, We thank You that no weapon formed
against us or our co-workers, or our families, or our ministries shall prosper,
and every tongue that has risen against us in judgment shall be shown to be in
the wrong. For this peace, righteousness, security and triumph over opposition
is the heritage of these servants of the Lord, and this is the righteousness
and vindication which we obtain from You that which You impart to them as
our justification.
Since then, Father, we have been raised up with
Christ to a new life, thus sharing Jesus' resurrection from the dead, Praying
that we aim at and keep seeking the rich, eternal treasures that are above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. That we set our minds and keep
them set on what is above, the higher things, not on the things that are on the
earth. For as far as this world is concerned, we have died and our new real
life is hid with Christ in God.
Praying that we be of the same mind, maintaining
the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. That we walk in a manner
worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all humility and
gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love, being
diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace and forgiving
one another, whoever has a complaint against any one, just as the Lord forgave us.
May we give no cause for offense in anything, in order that the ministry be not
discredited, but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God.
Praying that whatever these staff members do, we do
our work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord
we will receive the reward of the inheritance; for it is the Lord Christ whom we
serve.
Favor
For You, Lord, will bless the righteous. As with a
shield You will surround us with goodwill, pleasure and favour.
Father, Praying that Your servants will not forsake
mercy and kindness and truth, but that we will shut out all hatred and
selfishness and deliberate hypocrisy and falsehood. Praying that we will bind
mercy and kindness and truth about our necks, and write them on the tablet of our
hearts, so that we may find favour, good understanding and high esteem in the
sight and judgment of God and man.
Father, Praying that in all matters of wisdom and understanding, when
we are consulted, that our counsel will be found to be ten times better than
the counsel of all those in the whole country round about.
