Purpose

I have set watchmen
on your walls,
O Jerusalem;
  They shall never
hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the Lord,
 do not keep silent,
   And give Him no rest
 till He establishes
  And till He makes Jerusalem
 a praise in the earth.
Isaiah 62:6,7

We are to obey God's word
and He has told us to pray
The purpose of prayer
is to determine God's will
in a matter and then to
pray it into existence.
It is a privilege and duty
to be involved with God
in the formative work
of others lives.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,   for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence
1 Timothy 2:1,2

 Moreover, as for me,
far be it from me that I should sin
against the Lord in
ceasing to pray for you;
but I will teach you
the good and the right way.
 1 Samuel 12:23

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
Ephesians 6:18

Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Matthew 26:41

 pray without ceasing,
1 Thessalonians 5:17

And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.
Matthew 14:23

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Luke 6:12

You are called a priest unto Him.
Do not fail as God's heir
to minister to Him through
praise and worship
and commune with Him through
prayer and meditation

But you are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people,
that you may proclaim
the praises of Him who called you
out of darkness into His marvelous light
1 Peter 2:9

you also, as living stones,
are being built up a spiritual house,
a holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God
through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,   having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
Ephesians 1:4,5

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Spending time with Him
because we love Him
Sharing heart to heart
with Him will deepen our
relationship to prayer.
Keenness in the spiritual
realm comes as we discipline
ourselves in prayer, praise,
fasting and renewing our mind
through God's word.
Ask to reveal the spiritual reality

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”   And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:16,17

And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?”
When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
Luke 8:45,46

 Who is he who condemns?
 It is Christ who died,
 and furthermore is also risen,
who is even at the right hand of God,
who also makes intercession for us.

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
Mark 1:35

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrew 7:25

You can feel the heart of the Father
and experience His heart
hurting for His children
though the Holy Spirit.

just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart,
inasmuch as both in
my chains and in the defense
 and confirmation of the gospel,
you all are partakers with me of grace.
 Philippians 1:7

Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,   do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:
Ephesians 1:15,16

Praying God's word brings results
we must speak the word in faith
not in vain repetition
The Holy Spirit will enpower
us to speak with anointing
as we believe in faith.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6

 So shall My word be
that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
  And it shall prosper
in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;   that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;   strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;
Colossians 1:9-11

 I waited patiently for the Lord;
  And He inclined to me,
  And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
  Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
  And established my steps.
Psalm 40:1,2

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.   By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
John 15:7,8

Then the Lord said to me,
“You have seen well,
for I am ready to perform My word.”
Jeremiah 1:12

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.
 Even so, Father,
for so it seemed good in Your sight.
Matthew 11:25,26

All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
Philippians 3:15

Mark 3:27

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.   But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with
the kings of Persia.
Daniel 10:12,13

casting all your care upon Him,
for He cares for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.   Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.   But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.   To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:7-11

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?   Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:25,26

Cast your burden on the Lord,
  And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Philippians 4:6,7

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,   saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.   Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’   And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,   yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”     Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.   And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?   I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
Luke 18:1-8

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.   For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Luke 11:9,10
