Sunday Prayer
Father in Jesus' name, we come boldly and with
confidence to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and receive grace to help in
time of need.
Revelation
Father, We ask that You give to us Your spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the deep, intimate, full knowledge of You, the eyes of
our hearts and understanding being enlightened and flooded with light, that we
might know what is the hope of our calling, and what are the riches of the
glory of Your inheritance in us, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your
power toward us, because we do believe according to the working of Your mighty power
which You wrought in Christ, when You raised Him from the dead, and set Him at
Your own right hand in the heavenly places.
And Father, even as Your servant Moses was faithful
in all Your house, and You spoke to him face-to-face, even so Praying that we will be faithful and entrusted in all Your
house, and that You would speak face-to-face with us—openly,
clearly and directly, and not in dark sayings.
Praying that we will keep and obey Your
commandments and words so that we may continue to abide in Your love, so that
You will come unto us and make Your abode and special dwelling place with us,
and love us, and show and reveal and manifest Yourself through us, and make Yourself
real and be clearly seen by us.
Anointing
Father, we ask that the Spirit of the Lord rest
upon us— the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might
and strength, the spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient awe
of the Lord.
Praying that we will not be vague or thoughtless or
foolish, but will be understanding, firmly grasping the will of the Lord; that we
may ever be continually filled with Your Holy Spirit, and with the fruit that Your Holy Spirit produces: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Praying that we walk and live
habitually in the Holy Spirit, responsive to, controlled and guided and led by Your Holy Spirit, so that we will not gratify or carry out the cravings and
desires of the flesh, and not be subject to, or come under the law.
Father, grant that the manifestation of the Spirit
be given to us to profit us in all we do: the word of wisdom, the word of
knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy,
discerning of spirits, kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues.
Praying that these attesting signs will accompany us
because we believe: In Your name we will drive out demons; we will speak in new
languages; if we pick up serpents or drink anything
deadly, it will not hurt us; we will lay our hands
on the sick, and they will get well.
And, Father, Praying that as we go out and preach
everywhere, You will keep working with us, and keep confirming the message by
the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompany the message.
Father, Praying that our speech and our preaching
not be set forth in persuasive, enticing and plausible words of man's wisdom, but
in demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power, that is a proof by Your Spirit
and power operating through us and stirring in the minds of our listeners and
hearers, the most holy emotions, and thus, persuading them, so that our faith
might not rest in the wisdom of men or in human philosophy, but in the power of
God.
Father, Praying that we retain the standard of
sound words, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus, and that You open
up to us a door for the Word, so we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, in
order that we may make it clear in the way we ought to speak, and that our
speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so we may know how to respond
to each person.
Holiness
And, Father, like Your Holy One who called us is holy;
Praying that we may be holy also in all our behaviour.
We ask that we may be filled with the knowledge of
Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we may walk in a manner
worthy of the Lord, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good
work and increasing in the knowledge of God,
strengthened with all power, according to Your
glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience.
Praying that You will instruct us and teach us in
the ways we should go, and counsel us with Your eye upon us.
Favor with God
Praying that we will trust in You, in order that loving-kindness
and mercy may surround us. That we will not trust in people or make flesh our
strength, but trust in the Lord that we may be blessed.
Praying that we will continue in the faith firmly
established, grounded and settled, and steadfast, and not be moved away from the
hope of the gospel.
Praying that we will abide vitally united to You,
and that Your words will remain in and continue to live in our hearts, so that we
may ask whatever we will and it shall be done for us. For You have called and
chosen us that we might go and bring forth much fruit, and keep on bearing
lasting, remaining, abiding fruit, that You may be honored and glorified, and
that we may show and prove ourselves to be true followers and disciples of Yours.
We pray, Father, that we continue building ourselves
up on our most holy faith, praying in Your Holy Spirit, keeping ourselves in the
love of God, and looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal
life.
Now to Him, who is able to establish us according
to the gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of
the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is
manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment
of the eternal God, which has been made known to all the nations, leading to
obedience of faith; now to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the
glory forever.
Amen.
