Chapter 2
Remember the father is seeking for us to stand in the gap
The Holy Spirit is drawing us to a standing point
as we go forward we may at some point
as we stand in the gate be reminded
of someone or something to reach out to.
If a scripture opens this then pause for a while
and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal it.
.
Trusting Salvation for
the Acceptance of God 16
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Heart, rejoice in the truth
that we are not made acceptable
by the ways God
has used us in the past.
Lord, You are the God
who makes us acceptable
.
(heart, let ourself feel confidence
because of the truth!)
.
we are turning away
from trying to justify
God’s acceptance of us!
we repent of that
and we are teaching our heart
to love the truth.
The Bible says,
“Who will bring a charge
against God's elect?
God is the one who justifies”
(Rom. 8:33).
“Christ died for sins once for all,
the just for the unjust,
so that He might bring us to God ”
(1 Peter 3:18).
So, God’s presence
burns away everything
about us that is unacceptable.
Lord, we love basking in
Your acceptance of us God!
Heart, rejoice that
the acceptance of God
can NOT be earned by our
kindness toward other people.
we should be kind and loving
toward other people.
But we are trusting
God for salvation.
we rejoice that we don’t
have to get the acceptance
we need from people.
we love receiving and
wearing God’s acceptance even now
we are NOT made acceptable
by how much we help others
because of what we teach them.
we put our faith in the power
of the death of Jesus
Jesus earned the acceptance
of God for us.
Heart, believe that
“ by His doing we are in Christ Jesus ”
(1 Cor. 1:30).
Thank you God for
that wonderful truth!
we turn from disbelieving God’s word
in an attempt to protect ourself.
“ Christ also accepted us
to the glory of God.”
(Rom. 15:7).
By trusting the power
of the cross we have
God’s full acceptance!
our faith causes Him pleasure!
Lord, we submit into believing
that Your acceptance is all around
and touching us.
“Behold, God is our salvation,
we will trust and not be afraid ”
(Isa. 12:2).
And Lord instead of
running away from You,
we are turning our heart
to believe YOU God.
“ there is now no condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus.”
(Rom. 8:1)
“My soul shall make its
boast in the Lord;
the humble will hear it and rejoice”
(Psa. 34:2).
So thank You for YOUR acceptance.
we receive it, and we put it on,
and wear it as identity.
we love YOU God!
Heart, hear and believe
where the Bible says it is
“ the righteousness which comes from
God on the basis of faith,”
(Phil. 3:9).
So we repent of trying to earn
or deserve salvation!
we turn away from wanting to be good
enough for God to save us.
“to the one who does not work,
but believes in Him
who justifies the ungodly,
his faith is credited as righteousness,”
(Rom. 4:5)
The Bible says that so we are
turning our heart to believe it.
“ the Lord is my righteousness.”
(Jer. 33:16).
“He loves righteousness ”
(Psa. 11:7).
Thank You God for loving us.
“there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
(Rom. 8:1).
“by His doing you are in Christ Jesus ”
(1 Cor. 1:30).
Heart, by our trusting
the power of the cross
we have God’s full acceptance!
It also says that because of our faith,
we also have God’s approval
and His pleasure!
“Now faith is the conviction
of things not seen.
For by it the men of
old gained approval.”
(Heb. 11:1,2).
“And without faith it is
impossible to please Him ”
(Heb. 11:6).
So, thank You God!
Heart it is right for us to believe that
we have the acceptance of God
by our faith in Him to save us.
we also have the
approval and pleasure of
God because of our faith.
Hear it again,
by their
“ faith by it the men of
old gained approval.”
(Heb. 11:1,2).
“without faith it is
impossible to please Him ”
(Heb. 11:6).
So thank you God that it is right for us to
believe and enjoy Your acceptance.
It is right for us to believe and enjoy
Your approval of us God.
It is right for us to believe
and enjoy that You feel
pleasure because of our faith.
So we turn our heart to
strongly believe that
because of our faith in God,
it is justified for us to put on
and wear Your acceptance,
to wear Your approval,
and put on the truth
that we make God feel pleasure.
Lord, YOU on us and all around
is our identity.
Heart, the Bible says it
so we are going to
believe it more and more.
“ the Lord is our righteousness”
(Jer. 33:16).
“God is our salvation,
we will trust and not be afraid ”
(Isa. 12:2).
“ by His doing we are in Christ Jesus ”
(1 Cor. 1:30).
So thank You God!
.
Believing Forgiveness and
Receiving Cleansing 17
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Hear it, believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Heart hear this:
God is good. It is evil that is evil!
God is our friend!
. Heart, rejoice in the truth that
forgiveness will never be earned
by how bad we make ourself feel
Lord, we love that
“You, Lord, are good,
and ready to forgive ”
(Psa. 86:5).
So we repent of holding
back from God
when we feel sinful
or spiritually dirty somehow.
Heart God is always
“ good, and ready to forgive ”
(Psa. 86:5).
we turn our heart away from
wanting to hold back from God
until we think we
deserve His forgiveness.
we repent and turn away from
wanting to earn or
deserve the forgiveness of God.
And, we are telling our
heart to believe
the grace of God where He just
gives us forgiveness because
we confess our sin and ask Him
(believe it!)
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
when we feel sinful and dirty,
we don’t have to hide from God.
we are turning our heart to love the
cleansing that flows from You God.
It is right for us to believe it.
So heart,
believe that the cleansing of God
is always available.
And love the cleansing of God.
we CAN receive it even now
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
no matter what accusation
or guilt the devil brings against us,
we don’t have to wait
for God to wash us clean.
we repent of fear about presenting
my dirtiness before God.
Thank You God for forgiving us,
for washing us with the Holy Spirit,
and for making us holy
we humble ourself from pride
in from thinking that we should
deserve being forgiven somehow.
Heart, forgiveness will
never be earned by
never be earned by
“good works”
we do for God.
we repent of trying to earn forgiveness.
Heart, believe the grace of God
to just give us forgiveness
and cleansing by
our believing Him to do it.
Heart, rejoice in the
truth about God!
we turn from pride that
makes us want to deserve
the forgiveness and
cleansing of God.
It is right, good,
and safe for us to receive
forgiveness and cleansing by
faith in Him to do it
(heart, believe God is
washing you with His Spirit!)
Heart, IT IS WRITTEN:
“If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and righteous to
forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9).
So when God forgives
He also cleanses me,
the forgiveness of God
always comes
with His washing us clean.
Heart,
God is faithful and righteous
to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us .”
(1 John 1:9).
“In Him we have forgiveness
according to the
riches of His grace ”
(Eph. 1:7,8 ).
So the cleansing of God is
NOT something we could ever earn.
we just have to believe God
for it and trust Him
to be washing us.
“washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
Heart, The Bible says
“the Spirit and the water
and the blood;
and the three are in agreement”
(1Jo 5:8).
So God says,
“ I will sprinkle clean water on you,
and you will be clean ”
(Eze. 36:25).
And that we are
“ washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
It also says that
“ the blood of Jesus His Son
cleanses us from all sin”
(1John 1:7).
So when God forgives
He also washes us clean
with the Holy Spirit
that is the water of God
and the blood of Christ
all at the same time.
And we submit into
believing the truth.
Heart, God says to us that
“ I will cleanse you ”
(Eze. 36:25).,
“I have wiped out
your transgressions
like a thick cloud,
and your sins like a heavy mist.
Return to Me,
for I have redeemed you”
(Isa.44:22).
And right now we are
letting ourself enjoy
God cleansing us
with the Holy Spirit,
washing us all over.
Heart, God wants us
to be holy and righteous
and God says that He does it,
NOT us.
So we turn our heart to believe
where God says to us that
“ I am the Lord who sanctifies you”
(Lev. 20:8).
It is God who makes us holy,
“ by the sanctifying work of the Spirit ”
(1 Peter 1:2).
“ washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
Heart, our good behavior
doesn’t make us clean!
God does it because He says,
“ I will cleanse you from
all your filthiness ”
(Eze. 36:25).
So we are turning our heart
to love presenting our sin
before God so that He can
wash us clean again.
Thank you for forgiveness
and for washing us clean!
.
Believing Forgiveness and
Receiving Cleansing 18
Heart, listen to what
we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Heart, let ourself delight that
we don't have to justify
or hide from the subtle
sins of our heart.
Lord, we love that You are so
ready to forgive.
So we repent of wanting to feel like
we deserve forgiveness from God.
And, we repent of waiting to
trust God for forgiveness.
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
we don’t have to hide from God
when something is wrong
even when we don’t know what it is.
we repent of pride from thinking
that we can hide ourself.
we turn to You Lord.
we set our heart to love
hiding ourself in Your presence
here with us God
.
(heart, intentionally love
God’s presence!)
.
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
we don't have to hide our need
for forgiveness by
holding back from God.
Heart turn away from
wanting God to
submit to our demands.
Heart, the Lord is God, NOT us
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
we are not justified by what we do
or don't do when compared to others—
we turn our heart from trusting ourself.
And we are letting ourself
enjoy being cleansed
by You right now Lord
we delight that we don’t have to
use pain and guilt in order to
“buy” forgiveness from God.
Lord, we love Your
grace to forgive
and wash us clean without
our having to earn it.
Lord right now, we are thinking
about Your Holy Spirit
shining out from You,
washing us and making us holy
Heart, the cleansing is real
because God says,
“I will cleanse them from
all their iniquity by
which they have sinned against Me ”
(Jer. 33:8);
“ I will sprinkle clean water on you,
and you will be clean..”
(Eze. 36:25).
“ by the sanctifying work of the Spirit
sprinkled with His blood ”
(1 Peter 1:2).
“ cleansing their hearts by faith”
(Acts 15:9).
“ washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
Thank you God that we CAN receive
more of the Holy Spirit after salvation.
And that happens
every time you wash us!
Heart, we submit into
fully believing that God
forgives us because
we have faith that
He is forgiving us.
we love You Lord!
we are telling our heart
to be confident about being
completely surrounded by
the cleansing of God
because
“ God is Light ”
(1 John 1:5)
“ He wraps himself in light
as with a garment;”
(Psa. 104:1,2 NIV).
“ if we walk in the Light
the blood of Jesus His Son
cleanses us from all sin”
(1 John 1:7)
Heart, we don’t have to feel shame
about getting close to God
because the radiant fountain
of God washes us clean,
even our body:
“have confidence to enter the holy place
by the blood of Jesus
draw near in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled clean
and our bodies washed with pure water.”
(Heb. 10:19 and 22).
God says that He makes us holy,
“ I am the Lord who sanctifies you”
(Lev. 20:8).
He says,
“ sanctified by faith in Me”
(Acts 26:18).
Washing us clean is what God does,
NOT us.
Heart, God says,
“I will cleanse you ”
(Eze. 36:25).
“In Him we have forgiveness
according to His grace ”
(Eph. 1:7,8 ).
Heart,
when the enemy makes us feel dirty
we present ourself before God and
He burns away the filth:
“The Lord has washed away the filth
of the daughters of Zion
by the spirit of judgement
and the spirit of burning”
(Isa. 4:4);
Heart it is right to enjoy letting God
wash us by burning away the filth.
Thank you God for
washing away the filth
by the Spirit of
judgement and burning.
Thank You for that God
Heart,
we repent of wrapping ourself
in disbelief about
God’s forgiveness and love.
IT IS WRITTEN:
“ the Lord loves His people ”
(2 Chron. 2:11).
And, we love You Lord.
we love Your presence
we set our heart to love
Your presence with more and more
freedom and joy all the time.
we thank You God!
Heart, it is safe for us to turn
and make YOU our God
because it says that
“ the Lord your God loves you.”
(Deut. 23:5).
So rest in His love
because when God washes us holy
it is EASY for Him to love us
.
heart, intentionally love
God’s presence!)
Believing Forgiveness and
Receiving Cleansing 19
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Heart hear this: God is good.
It is evil that is evil!
God is our friend!
.
(pause and think of Him that way!)
.
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
we don’t have to wait
to be close to God.
we are trusting His forgiveness and
cleansing right now.
we don’t have to wait until
we find a reason why
we deserve His forgiveness.
we will not trust ourself.
Lord, we love Your grace
to forgive us God
.
(heart, believe you ARE
receiving right now!)
.
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
forgiveness is not earned
by how bad we make ourself feel
Lord, we love that You are
so ready to wash us clean.
And we are letting our heart
enjoy it right now Lord
we don’t have to hide from God
when we feel that something
is deeply wrong with us.
Lord God, we are trusting You
to touch us and wash my humanity
with Your presence.
we love Your power to
wash away all reason to feel shame.
.
(heart, let ourself feel
confidence and to
love His cleansing right now!)
.
we turn from soothing ourself
with pride because of how bad
we have made ourself feel about sin.
The kingdom of God is our glory.
We
“receive a kingdom which
cannot be shaken”
(Heb. 12:28).
we delight that God’s kingdom
comes to us and surrounds us
with His power that heals
and does miracles
Heart, rejoice in the truth that
no matter how bad the devil
tries to make us feel,
we will trust God to wash us clean.
we love Your forgiveness Lord..
.
(heart, let ourself feel confidence
we turn our heart away from
trying to do something to help us
deserve the forgiveness
and cleansing of God.
The Lord is God and we put
our faith in Him not us.
we love the cleansing
God gives freely.
(My Heart) hear this,
“ all things for which you pray and ask,
believe that you have received them,
and they will be granted you.”
(Mark 11:24).
So Lord we humble ourself
and submit into believing
that You don’t hold back
from forgiving us,
cleansing us,
and making us completely clean.
Heart, God is
“faithful and righteous to forgive us
and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9).
Heart, our God does not hold the
memory of our past against us.
If we fall to temptation
God is always ready to forgive us.
“ You, Lord, are good,
and ready to forgive ”
(Psa. 86:5).
And God says,
“for My own sake,
and I will not remember your sins”
(Isa. 43:25).
So it is NOT for our sake
that He forgives.
It is for His sake,
“I am the one
who wipes out your transgressions
for My own sake ”
(Isa. 43:25).
Heart, we are confident because
IT IS WRITTEN:
“I, even I, am the one
who wipes out your
transgressions for My own sake;
and I will not remember your sins.”
(Isa. 43:25).
.
(heart, hear it)
.
Even when
“Iniquities prevail against us;
as for our transgressions,
You forgive them.”
(Psa. 65:3).
“In Him we have forgiveness
according to the riches of His grace ”
(Eph. 1:7,8 ).
Heart, we are secure
in our relationship to God
because
“ your sins have been forgiven you
for His name's sake”
(1 John 2:12)
.
(heart, hear, believe,
and love the God who is close!)
.
“For You, Lord, are good,
and ready to forgive,
and abundant in lovingkindness
to all who call upon You”
(Psa. 86:5)
.
(heart, hear, believe,
and love the God who is close!)
.
“Therefore we say to you,
all things for which you pray and ask,
believe that you have received them, and
they will be granted you.”
(Mark 11:24)
.
(heart, hear, believe, and love the truth!)
.
Heart, we are confident
and secure because
God washes us inside and out.
IT IS WRITTEN:
“ draw near in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled clean
and our bodies washed
with pure water”
(Heb. 10:19 and 22).
we are confident about
the cleansing power
of our being
“ washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
God makes us holy
because He says,
“ I am the Lord who sanctifies you”
(Lev. 20:8).
Believing Forgiveness and
Receiving Cleansing 20
... Heart, listen to
what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Heart hear this:
God is good. It is evil that is evil!
God is our friend!
.
(heart, think of Him that way!)
.
Heart, by drawing near and drinking
from the Lord we become a spring
and a container for the
LIVING water of God.
And, even when something dirty is said
or done by others around us,
God just keeps on washing us clean.
.
(Heart, let ourself feel confidence
because of the truth!)
.
“unclean things,
whoever touches them becomes
unclean Nevertheless
a spring or a container
collecting water shall be clean”
(Lev. 11:31-36).
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“The afflicted and
needy are seeking water,
but there is none,
and their tongue is parched with thirst;
I, the Lord, will answer them Myself...
I will not forsake them.
I will open rivers...and springs...
I will make the dry land
fountains of water.”
(Isa. 41:17-18; Isa 62:4 ).
Heart,
we are confident and secure about
drawing near to God because
IT IS WRITTEN:
“All that the Father
gives Me will come to Me,
and the one who comes to Me
I will certainly not cast out.”
(John 6:37);
(John 6:37);
“none of those who
take refuge in Him
will be condemned”
(Psa. 34:22).
.
(Heart, feel reassured, turn
away from fear,
and feel confidence
from loving this truth!)
.
“In Him we have...
the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the
riches of His grace.”
(Eph. 1:7,8 ).
.
(Heart, believe and love
God for that forgiveness!)
.
Heart, we are confident because
our sins have been forgiven—
for His glory, for His sake:
“Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of Your name;
and deliver us and
forgive our sins for
Your name's sake.”
(Psa. 79:9)
(Psa. 79:9)
.
(Heart, enjoy the truth
that it isn’t for our sake
that God forgives us!)
.
Heart, we confess our sin to God
and He forgives us.
we turn from holding back
because it does NOT depend on
whether we deserve it or not;
“your sins have been
forgiven you for His name's sake”
(1 John 2:12).
God forgives us freely
because God is God!
Heart, we stop our resisting and
we rest into trusting the truth about the
forgiveness of God because
“You, Lord, are good,
and ready to forgive.”
(Psa. 86:5)
.
(Heart, feel safe because of it!)
.
Heart, we are secure
in the forgiveness
and cleansing of God because
“If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and righteous
to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9)
.
(Heart, let ourself feel confidence
because of the truth!)
.
Heart, we set our heart to submit and
believe the truth because God is
“cleansing their hearts by faith.”
(Acts 15:9);
And right now, we are letting ourselves
enjoy being completely washed by God...
... Heart, God makes us holy
by us believing the Spirit of God to do it:
“sanctification by the Spirit
and faith in the truth”
(2 Thess. 2:13)
Heart, we rest into receiving
the touch of the Spirit of God
all around and in us here:
“washed in the Spirit of our God.”
(1 Cor. 6:11).
we love You Lord.
Oh, we love Your presence!
Heart, it is not because
we earn or deserve forgiveness,
it is for God’s sake
that He forgives us:
“your sins have been forgiven you
for His name's sake”
(1 John 2:12)
.
(Heart, hear and love it)
.
Lord right now,
we are stopping to trust and to think
about Your radiant presence
completely washing us
about Your radiant presence
completely washing us
and filling our need..
.
(Heart, believe you are receiving
that cleansing and let yourself love it!)
that cleansing and let yourself love it!)
.
Listening and Hearing
God Speak to You 21
The Lord speaks to us through the
Holy Spirit who lives inside us.
Hearing the Lord improves greatly
when we trust that
we are before the Lord,
that He is before us here,
and that the Holy Spirit and angels
are all around us here.
Heart, listen to
what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Lord God we delight that
“the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come
knowledge and understanding”
(Pro. 2:6).
It is right and good for us to trust You
to do that for us because
“I know, O Lord,
that a man's way is not in himself,
nor is it in a man who walks
to direct his steps”
(Jer. 10:23).
we delight to repent and turn from
trusting ourselves to know what is best.
Lord we love that
we don’t have to trust ourselves
because You are my God..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Father it is a great joy to
trust You to speak to us
and give direction about
what to do and say.
It is right and good for us to,
“Trust in the Lord with
all our heart and
do not lean on
your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make
our paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes.”
(Prov. 3:5-7).
we delight that we don’t have
to do it on our own
because You will direct our paths...
Lord, we delight that
we can trust You to speak to us
in ways that are loving,
kind, strong, and good.
Lord God, we rest into confidently
believing You are here
and that You speak to us by grace
and without holding back.
Lord, we delight that
we can be confident
that You will speak to us
through the Bible
and all through the day..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Lord God we love
Your promise that
“I will instruct you and teach you
in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you with
My eye upon you”
(Psa. 32:8).
we delight that it is right and
safe for us to trust You to
“Make Your face shine
upon Your servant,
and teach me Your statutes”
(Psa. 119:135).
we will confidently trust
You to speak to us;
“Speak, Lord,
for Your servant is listening.”
(1 Sam. 3:9)...
Lord God we are asking
for wisdom and
we rest into confidently
believing that
You are constantly giving
wisdom and understanding
freely and without holding back
“But if any of you lacks wisdom,
let him ask of God,
who gives to all generously
and without reproach,
and it will be given to him.
But he must ask in faith
without any doubting,
for the one who doubts is like
the surf of the sea,
driven and tossed by the wind”
(James 1:5,6)...
Father we humble ourselves
into believing
the truth about being able
the truth about being able
to hear from You.
we turn from
despair and hopelessness
because God
does speak to His people.
we rest into confidently believing
that You are here
with us and that You
have given us the ability
to hear what You are saying.
Thank You for Your written
and Your spoken word..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we delight that God promises
to give the words
when we need them.
The Bible says,
“When they bring you before
the synagogues and the rulers
and the authorities,
do not worry about how or
what you are to speak
in your defense,
or what you are to say;
for the Holy Spirit will teach you
in that very hour what
you ought to say”
(Luke 12:11,12).
we love that we
don’t have to speak
on our own initiative.
Lord, we humble
ourselves from having
to daydream about
what we would say
Father we delight that
we can stand before You
and that You promise that
“I will counsel you with
My eye upon you”
(Psa. 32:8).
we choose to believe it
and we reject disbelief.
we delight that it is Your intention to
“Make Your face shine
upon Your servant,
and teach us Your statutes”
(Psa. 119:135).
we trust You Lord to work in us
so that we can hear You better..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Listening and Hearing
God Speak to You 22
Heart, listen to what
we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
we love that You have shown us clearly
that the pattern is to
watch, listen, and see
what the Father is doing.
“‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son
can do nothing of Himself,
unless it is something
He sees the Father doing;
for whatever the Father does,
these things the Son also
does in like manner.
For the Father loves the Son,
and shows Him all things
that He Himself is doing.”
(John 5:19-20).
Father we delight in the truth that
“the Lord loves His people”
(2 Chr. 2:11).
Because of this truth we will
confidently trust that You are
speaking to us.
we praise You for giving us
the Holy Spirit who reveals to us
“what is to come.”
“No longer do I call you slaves,
for the slave does not know
what his master is doing;
but I have called you friends,
for all things that I have
heard from My Father
I have made known to you”
(John 15:15).
“But when He,
the Spirit of truth, comes,
He will guide you into all the truth;
for He will not speak
on His own initiative,
but whatever He hears,
He will speak;
and He will disclose to you
what is to come”
(John 16:13)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Lord, it thrills our heart that it is
Your full intention to show us
what You are doing
so that we can glorify You better.
Heart hear this:
it is the Holy Spirit’s job
to glorify the Father—
we don’t have to
depend on ourselves.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will
send in My name,
He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance
all that I said to you”
(John 14:26).
“He will glorify Me,
for He will take of Mine
and will disclose it to you”
(John 16:14).
we refuse to try
and protect ourselves
by holding back from putting
our confidence in God
He does speak to us.
Despair and hopelessness
are enemies of living by faith
and of our being able to
experience intimacy with God.
Lord, we grab our heart
and we turn it from despair
and hopelessness about being
able to hear Your voice.
The truth is that You
do speak to your people.
we turn from fatalism
about being able to hear God
we confess fatalism as sin.
The Holy Spirit will
guide me into all truth
(John 14:26)...
Lord Jesus we love that You lead us
in the way we should go,
“My sheep hear My voice,
and I know them,
and they follow Me”
(John 10:27).
It is safe for use to
follow because,
“he goes ahead of them,
and the sheep follow him
because they know his voice”
(John 10:4).
Father, we will listen for Your word...
Father, we love that
we don’t have to fight
to protect ourselves
from hearing from You.
we can trust the word of God
as something that is good for us.
we can obey
without hesitation because
God has our best interest at heart.
Lord, we delight that
we can rest into confidently
entrusting ourself to You...
Thank You Lord that we don’t
have to wait like Daniel did
in Old Testament times
(Dan. 10:12-14).
It is righteous faith to say and believe
that the word of the Lord is near to us
even in our mouth and in our heart.
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“But the righteousness based
on faith speaks as follows:
"Do not say in your heart,
'Who will ascend into heaven?'
(that is, to bring Christ down),
or 'Who will descend into the abyss?'
(that is, to bring
Christ up from the dead).
" But what does it say?
"The word is near you, in your mouth
and in your heart"”
(Rom.10:6-8).
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“but we speak God's wisdom
in a mystery,
the hidden wisdom
which God predestined
before the ages to our glory...
For to us God revealed
them through the Spirit;
for the Spirit searches all things,
even the depths of God...
Now we have received,
not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God,
so that we may know the things
freely given to us by God...
we have the mind of Christ.”
(1 Cor. 2:7,10,12,16)
.
Listening and Hearing
God Speak to us 23
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
When God speaks we love that
we don’t have to disobey
even when it doesn’t make sense.
we love that when
God asks us to do
something it is always
a good thing to do...
we love that we don’t have to reach
and strive in order
to bring your word down from heaven.
Thank You Lord!
we rest into believing
that Your word is here—
we will not believe otherwise...
...God sees in both
the visible and invisible realms.
He always knows the best things
His people can do to help.
What He asks us to do is always best.
we turn from self-protection because of
worries and concern about
what other people will think..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we don’t have to avoid
listening for the voice of God
because of fear that
because of fear that
the enemy might deceive us
we just need to learn
to hear the difference
between what the voices sound like...
...Father it is with delight
to turn from thoughts of
disobeying the voice of God.
disobeying the voice of God.
When we hear Your voice we love
that we don’t have to fight
to protect ourselves by disobedience.
Lord, we rest into receiving
and believing what You say.
we make it our intent to receive
Your word and mix it with faith...
“while it is said,
‘Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts,
as when they provoked Me...
And to whom did He swear that they
would not enter His rest,
but to those who were disobedient...
So we see that they were not able to
enter because of unbelief...
For indeed we have had
good news preached to us,
just as they also;
but the word they heard
did not profit them,
because it was not united
by faith in those who heard”
(Heb. 3:15,18,19,4:2).
we love that we don’t have
to agree with pressure
to harden our heart
when we hear Your voice
we don’t have to
protect ourselves from hearing
God speak because
God speak because
He speaks out of love for us
God is loving and good.
we don’t have to think
we know better
when God asks us to do something
that might seem rude
or infringing on other people.
He knows what is most loving—
far better than us
The Power of His Word
to Change Us
Lord God we praise You
that Your written
and Your spoken word
is alive and works
powerfully in us to
help us grow..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“It is the Spirit who gives life...
the words that
I have spoken to you
are spirit and are life”
(John 6:63).
“All Scripture is inspired by God
and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction,
for training in righteousness
so that the man of God
may be adequate,
equipped for every good work”
(2 Tim. 3:16,17).
“Let the word of Christ
richly dwell within you.”
(Col. 3:16).
Father I love that by our believing
the truth of Your word that
the Holy Spirit changes us into
being more like Your Son.
You have chosen us
for sanctification
by the Holy Spirit
and by faith in the truth ..
“and through Him
everyone who believes
is freed from all things,
from which you could not be freed
through the Law of Moses”
(Acts 13:39)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“Sanctify them in the truth;
Your word is truth”
(John 17:17).
“God has chosen you from
the beginning for salvation
through sanctification
by the Spirit and faith in
the truth”
(2 Thess. 2:13)
.
Listening and Hearing
God Speak to us 24
Heart, listen to what
we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Father we delight that
we can trust You to cleanse
and sanctify us by washing us with
and sanctify us by washing us with
the LIVING water of truth
that is Your word.
“Christ also loved the church
and gave Himself up for her,
so that He might sanctify her,
having cleansed her
by the washing of water
with the word,
that He might present to Himself
the church in all her glory,
having no spot or wrinkle
or any such thing;
but that she would be
holy and blameless”
(Eph. 2:25-27)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Father we love that
Your word sanctifies us.
It purifies us by burning
away our filthy ways...
“the Lord has washed
away the filth of the
daughters of Zion and purged...
her by the spirit of judgment
and the spirit of burning”
(Isa. 4:4)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
“Were not our hearts burning...
while He was
explaining the scriptures”
(Luke 24:32).
“‘Is not My word like fire?’
declares the Lord,
‘and like a hammer
which shatters a rock?’”
(Jer. 23:29).
“And I saw something like a
sea of glass mixed with fire,
and those who had been victorious...
standing on the sea of glass”
(Rev. 15:2).
"You are already clean
because of the word
which I have spoken to you.”
(John 15:3).
Abiding IN His Word
Father we love that it is by
the anointing of Your Holy Spirit
that we can abide in Your word...
that we can abide in Your word...
“But you have
an anointing from the Holy One,
and you all know...
the anointing which you received
from Him abides in you,
and you have no need
for anyone to teach you;
but as His anointing teaches
you about all things,
and is true and is not a lie,
and just as it has taught you,
you abide in Him”
(1 John 2:20,27).
Father we love that Your word is here
and that Your word abides in us.
But we also love that
even right now Your words
“proceed out of the mouth of God”
(Mat. 4:4).
It is our great joy that
the words that “proceed”
from Your mouth come down
to me from above...
“bitter jealousy and selfish ambition...
This wisdom is not that which
comes down from above...
But the wisdom from above
is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, reasonable,
full of mercy and good fruits,
unwavering, without hypocrisy”
(James 3:14,15 and 17).
“For as the rain and the snow
come down from heaven...
So shall My word be which
goes forth from My mouth”
(Isa. 55:10,11).
“When He utters His voice,
there is a tumult of
waters in the heavens”
(Jer. 10:13).
“His voice was like the
sound of many waters”
(Rev. 1:15).
“He will sprinkle many nations...
what they had not heard
they will understand”
(Isa. 52:15).
“Make Your face shine
upon Your servant,
and teach me Your statutes”
(Psa. 119:135).
“Light is sown like seed
for the righteous”
(Psa. 97:11).
“the seed is the word of God.”
(Luke 8:11).
“And I shall lift up my hands
to Thy commandments,
Which I love;
And I will meditate
on Thy statutes”
(Psa. 119:48)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Listening and Hearing
God Speak to You 25
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
Lord God we love that
we can see and hear what
the Father is doing
the Father is doing
by abiding in Your word.
poured out upon us
freely by Your grace...
"I am the vine, you are the branches;
he who abides in Me, and I in him,
he bears much fruit;
for apart from Me you can do nothing...
If you abide in Me,
and My words abide in you,
ask whatever you wish,
and it shall be done for you.
By this is My Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit,
and so prove to be My disciples”
(John 15:5,7-8).
“But who has stood
in the council of the Lord,
That he should see
and hear His word?
Who has given heed to
His word and listened?”
(Jer. 23:18).
“If you abide in My word,
then you are truly disciples of Mine;”
(John 8:31).
Lord God we love that
we can confidently trust you to
“Make Your face
shine upon Your servant,
and teach me Your statutes”
(Psa. 119:135).
we delight that we can abide
in You by the shine from
Your face upon us.
Lord, we delight that
we can trust Your grace;
“Who is among you that...
walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the Lord
and rely on his God”
(Isa. 50:10)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Lord, we
“receive the word with joy”
(Luke 8:13).
we receive Your word and we
“hold it fast,
and [will] bear fruit
with perseverance”
(Luke 8:15).
Father we rest into listening
to what You say
with a strong intent to unite
what I hear with faith
(Heb. 4:2)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
the pleasure we long
for most is not
to feed ourselves
with my own human intelligence.
The understanding of God is greater.
Lord, we lift our hands up to Your word
(Psa. 119:48).
we wait expectantly for You to speak
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we don’t have to be so afraid of
being deceived by the Devil
that we prevent ourselves
from hearing and obeying
the word of the Lord.
God spoke to Abraham,
he believed it,
and God credited him
with righteousness;
(Rom. 4:3).
It is right and good for us to
trust God in the same way
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we don’t have to
glory in what we say
or in our human influence.
What God says has power
and will not return void
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
...when God warns us
about something
we don’t have to take it as
His disapproval toward us.
He speaks because He cares
and wants us to pray.
The word of God is sure.
The calling of God is irrevocable
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Of Angels and God’s Word
“He sent His word
and healed them,
and delivered them from
their destruction's”
(Psa. 107:20).
“He makes the winds
His messengers,
flaming fire His ministers”
(Psa. 104:4).
“And of the angels He says,
‘Who makes His angels winds,
and His ministers a flame of fire’”
(Heb. 1:7).
“Bless the Lord,
you His angels, mighty in strength,
who perform His word,
obeying the voice of His word!”
(Psa. 103:20)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Prayer is Talking to God 26
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
we love that we can
“draw near with confidence
to the throne of grace,
so that we may receive mercy and
find grace to help in time of need”
(Heb. 4:16)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Lord, we love that
we can ask You questions
and that You answer:
“Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you”
(Matt. 7:7).
“the Spirit also helps our weakness;
for we do not know
how to pray as we should,
but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us
with groanings too deep for words;
and He who searches the hearts knows
what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He intercedes for the saints
according to the will of God”
(Rom. 8:26-27).
“This is the confidence
which we have before Him,
that, if we ask anything
according to His will,
He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us
in whatever we ask,
we know that we have the requests
which we have asked
from Him”
(1 John 5:14)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
Jesus said of us
and the Father that
“you know how to
give good gifts to your children,
how much more will
your Father who is in heaven
give what is good to
those who ask Him!”
(Matt. 7:11).
And knowing this Lord,
we love that it also says,
“all things for which you pray and ask,
believe that you have received them,
and they will be granted you’”
(Mark 11:24)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“In that day you will not
question Me about anything.
Truly, truly, I say to you,
if you ask the Father
for anything in My name,
He will give it to you.
Until now you have asked
for nothing in My name;
ask and you will receive,
so that your joy may be made full”
(John 16:23,24)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“all things you ask in prayer,
believing,
you will receive”
(Matt. 21:22).
“Have faith in God.
Truly I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain,
'Be taken up and cast into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that
what he says is going to happen,
it will be granted him.
Therefore I say to you,
all things for which you pray and ask,
believe that you have received them,
and they will be granted you’”
(Mark 11:22-24).
“Delight yourself in the Lord;
and He will give you
the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He will do it.
He will bring forth your righteousness
as the light and your
judgment as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord and
wait patiently for Him”
(Psa. 37:4-7) .
“pray without ceasing”
(1Thess. 5:17).
“Be strong and courageous, and act”
(1 Chron. 28:20).
“My house shall be a house of prayer”
(Luke 19:46).
“...do you not know that your body
is a temple of the
Holy Spirit who is in you,
whom you have from God,
and that you are not your own?”
(1 Cor. 6:19).
“To You I lift up my eyes,
O You who are enthroned
in the heavens!
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to
the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid
to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
until He is gracious to us.”
(Psa. 123:1,2)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
“far be it from me that
I should sin against the Lord
by ceasing to pray for you”
(1Sam. 12:23).
And thank you Lord
that it is a powerful way to pray
when we stand before You
and pray for people
while trusting that we
are presenting them
before You also
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
The Calling and Will of God 27
Heart, listen to what we are saying.
Let ourself believe, love,
and be thankful for the truth!
we repent and turn from
fear about what
God is calling us to do.
we reject and renounce
even the little beginnings of fear.
Courage, rise up in us.
Courage, rise up in us.
we will believe God
because the person of
Jesus Christ is with us here...
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we will believe God
for all that He wants us to do.
we renounce and reject
the pattern of disbelief
and then grieving and
morning about the loss.
we repent and turn from grief
that comes from disbelief
what might have been
will be because God is with us
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we turn from doubt
about God’s judgement in
choosing to use us.
God knows everything about us
and He knows everything about
what needs to be done.
we will rejoice and be
confident about what
He has asked us to do..
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we repent of hopelessness
about the calling of God
on our lives. Hope, rise up in us.
we will believe God.
we put our hope in You Lord.
By faith we believe
that our eyes are on Jesus
and the Father before us here
we repent of feelings of helplessness
about what God wants us to do.
Faith fullness, rise up in us.
we will be confident
about what God is asking.
we set our heart to work, play,
fight, and rest in Him...
we will not shrink back
because the mountain
before us is so great.
The Lord is our guide
and we will follow one step at a time.
Confidence and courage
Confidence and courage
be strong in us
we turn from distractions
that take us away from
what God wants for each moment.
Faithfulness, rise up in us.
we will use our time
to prepare ourselves
for doing what God has asked...
we repent of sadness
because of daydreams about
what might have been.
we will not agree with
the enemy to weep inside
because of doubt about being
able to do what God wants.
we will believe God...
we repent and turn from
disbelief about what
God is asking us to do.
It can be done and
God is asking us to do it.
we will not doubt
Your judgement in this Lord
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
.
we will not settle for living without
vision and purpose.
God has selected
and asked use to do it.
we will not be afraid.
we will believe that God
will bring to pass all that
He desires to
He desires to
accomplish through us
we turn from disbelief
about our adequacy
to do what God wants.
The God who has called us,
is adequate to make it happen.
we put our trust in You Lord
and we are believing
that our eyes are
that our eyes are
looking at You Lord...
“Faithful is He who calls you,
and He also will bring it to pass”
(1 Thess. 5:24).
“for the gifts and the calling of
God are irrevocable”
(Rom. 11:29).
“My Spirit is abiding in your midst;
do not fear!”
(Hag. 2:5).
“God is faithful, through whom
you were called into
fellowship with His Son,
fellowship with His Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord”
(1 Cor. 1:9).
“I can do all things through Him
who strengthens me”
(Phil. 4:13).
“Be strong and courageous, and act”
(1 Chron. 28:20)
“For the vision is yet
for the appointed time;
it hastens toward the goal
and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
for it will certainly come,
it will not delay”
(Hab. 2:3).
“For I am confident
of this very thing,
that He who began
a good work in you will
perfect it until
the day of Christ Jesus.”
(Phil. 1:6)
.
(Heart, hear, believe,
and love it as the truth!)
